Sun Fire X4600 Server

The Sun Fire X4600 is a 4-16 way (dual core available) server in a 4U high chassis. This server is compatible with Solaris 10 x64, Red Hat Enterprise Linux, Windows Server and VMWare Virtual Server, up to 64GB of memory, which will soon be upgradable to 128GB and up to four internal SAS hard drives, producing a total internal capacity of 292GB.

  • Up to 4 internal Serial Attached SCSI (SAS) 10,000RPM enterprise class 2.5" disk drives, with hardware RAID-0/1
  • Support for fibre channel, InfiniBand, Ethernet option cards
  • Enterprise level RAS to ensure continued server operations (hot pluggable and redundant fans, power supply, disks with hardware RAID, network failover)
  • Supported by N1 Systems Manager
  • Runs Solaris 10 x64, Red Hat Enterprise Linux, Windows Server and VMware Virtual Server (GSX initially) More OS support to be available in the next 90 days.
