Sun Fire X2100 M2 Server
The Sun Fire(TM) X2100 M2 (for Model 2) is a high performance 2-way 1-RU server in Sun's line of x64 rack-optimized servers. This new model can be configured with one Next-Generation AMD Opteron(TM) 1000 Series processor, supports up to four unbuffered DDR2 DDR2/667 memory DIMMs, and has two PCI-Express slots for expansion.
The server comes standard with four gigabit-Ethernet ports, and an embedded Lights Out Manager offering similar advanced management
functions as the Sun Fire X4100/X4200 ILOM. The Sun Fire X2100 M2 is designed for optimized price/performance, and can run Solaris, Linux or Windows operating systems. It is an ideal
solution for HPC/grid computing, web infrastructure and application development that demand flexibility, scalability and maximum return on their investment.

- Next-Generation AMD Opteron(TM) 1000 Series dual core processor with integrated DDR2 memory controller, HyperTransport(TM) link and AMD PowerNow!(TM) technology with Optimized Power Management (OPM).
- Second-generation HyperTransport CPU-to-I/O link delivering 2x4.0GB/sec (8.0GB/s aggregate) bandwidth
- Integrated 128-bit wide Memory Controller
- Up to 8 GB of unbuffered ECC DDR2/667 Memory (PC5300) with four DIMM slots. Supports 512 MB, 1 GB and 2 GB DIMM.
- Service Processor with embedded Lights Out Manager included;
offers similar advanced management functions such as Sun Fire X4100/X4200 ILOM, including IPMI 2.0, full KVM over IP and remote media capabilities. - Shared Network Access for the Service Processor through one of the four Gigabit-Ethernet ports of the main server. Server and Service Processor have separate, unique MAC addresses and IP addresses. This provides maximum flexibility to customers by allowing use of a single switch port to access both the system and the service processor, or dedicating the port to the Service Processor for complete network seperation while the server uses the remaining
three ports. - Sun N1(TM) System Manager v1.4 (RR October 2006), supporting the Sun Fire X2100 M2, enables rapid discovery, configuration and provisioning of groups of Sun servers, and simplifies data center management tasks by enabling remote power control, hardware component monitoring, and software patching.
