Sun Fire V890 Server
The new 1.8GHz UltraSPARC IV+ processor based Sun Fire V890 server is
a deskside 8-processor implementation of Sun's successful
enterprise-class systems architecture. It combines extreme
optimization, utilization, and reliability in a platform that protects
customers investments and has the flexibility to run stand-alone in
remote office locations as well as to run in a datacenter.
The new UltraSPARC IV+ 1.8GHz Sun Fire V890 servers offer up to 12% -
20% performance increase over 1.5GHz UltraSPARC IV configurations. The
Sun Fire V890 server now support 2GB memory DIMMs, doubling the memory
capacity to 128GB in a single system.
The renewed Sun Fire V490-E6900 servers enable customers to
incrementally grow their existing workloads and meet the demands of
new services than the previous generation servers with minimal
disruption. The Sun Fire V890 server, used by some of the most
demanding organizations in the world, provide a solid foundation for
consolidation, utilizing Solaris Containers. Sun's most scalable
server line, the Sun Fire V490-E25K servers continue to reduce risk
and enable customers to safely scale compute capacity.
