Sun Enterprise T2000
The new Sun Fire T2000 server uses Sun's new CoolThreads Chip Multithreading UltraSPARC T1 processor, allowing up to 32 concurrent threads in one enclosure.
With up to 32GB of memory, 32 simultaneous execution threads and providing up to 292GB of internal SAS storage, the Sun Fire T2000 is Sun's most powerful server enclosed in a rack mountable 2U high chassis. The Sun Fire T2000 is available with either 4, 6 or 8 cores utilizing either 1.0GHz or 1.2GHz UltraSPARC T1 processors.
Key Features
- Chip Multithreading Technology (CMT) UltraSPARC(R) T1 processor, delivering up to 32 simultaneous threads and up to 32GB of DDR2 memory for breakthrough performance running commercial workloads. Over 2X the throughput of many leading competitors on a server to server basis and 5X on a rack to rack basis
- 325W nominal power consumption (with 550W power supplies), delivering 4X performance per watt compared to leading competitors while reducing power consumption, heat dissipation and environmental costs
- Space efficient, rack-optimized 2RU design minimizing data center space and maximizing performance per RU
- SPARC(R) v9 compliant delivering binary compatibility to ensure investment protection of existing software assets, while enabling customers to gain the benefits of CMT without the need to recompile applications
- High on-chip RAS, redundant power supplies and fans, hot-pluggable disk drives and low component count for enhanced system uptime
- 5 PCI slots (3 x PCI-E & 2 x PCI-X) and 4 integrated 10/100/1000 Gbps Ethernet interfaces for exceptional expandability and network & I/O performance
- Solaris(TM) 10 3/05 HW2 Operating System pre-installed delivering the best OS on the planet.
- Pre-installed Sun Java(TM) Enterprise System Software (90 day evaluation) lowers the cost and complexity of design, architecture, integration, development, and deployment of web and network services
- Simplified remote management with no hidden costs: Sun Advanced Lights Out Manager (ALOM-CMT)
