Sun SPARC Enterprise M8000
The SPARC® Enterprise M8000 is an highly reliable, enterprise-grade, vertically-scalable systems that address the mid-range and high-end processing requirements of mission-critical IT projects. The high end model SES M8000 scales up to 16 SPARC64VI dual core sockets thus having up to 32 cores. With symmetric multiprocessing (SMP) scalability from one to 16 processors, memory subsystems as large as 512 GB, and high-throughput I/O architectures, SPARC® Enterprise servers easily perform the heavy lifting required by workloads such as global enterprise resource planning (ERP), intensive data mining, and complex database transactions. Furthermore, SPARC® Enterprise servers include built-in features such as Dynamic System Domains, eXtended system boards, and Dynamic Reconfiguration, bringing mainframe-class sophisticated resource control to an open systems compute platform.
