Sun Fire E2900 Server
The new UltraSPARC IV+ processor based Sun Fire E2900 servers are part
of the midrange implementation of Sun's successful enterprise-class systems architecture. It combines extreme optimization, utilization,
and reliability in a platform that protects customers investments.
The renewed Sun Fire E2900 server enable customers to incrementally
grow their existing workloads and meet the demands of new services up
to 12-20% faster than the 1.5GHz processor. The new PCI-X I/O
assembly delivers up to 33% performance improvement over PCI+ and the
E2900 server now support 2GB memory DIMMs, doubling the memory
capacity in a single system.
The Sun Fire E2900 server, used by some of the most demanding
organizations in the world, provide a solid foundation for
consolidation, utilizing Solaris Containers. Sun's most scalable
server line, the Sun Fire V490-E25K servers continue to reduce risk
and enable customers to safely scale compute capacity.
