DAT 72 tape drive is the fifth generation of the DDS family and is read/write compatible with DDS-3 and DDS-4.
The Sun StorEdge DAT 72 tape drive provides reliable, cost-effective data protection for entry-level and midrange servers and workstations. The Sun StorEdge DAT 72 tape drive has a native capacity of 36 GB per cartridge and a native throughput of 3 MByte/sec. And it can store up to 72 GB of compressed data, making it ideal for local backup. The Sun StorEdge DAT 72 tape drive protects your investment, providing reads and writes of DDS-3 and DDS-4 media for a painless upgrade path.
