The largest Infiniband core switch is now available with the capacity for 3456 server nodes. The Sun Datacenter Switch 3456 is ideally suited for the Sun Blade 6048 modular system to deliver an open PetaScale architecture. 300 discrete InfiniBand switches along with thousands of cables are replaced with this single core switch.

With 3456 ports of SDR or DDR connectivity, a front-panel capacity of 110 Tbps, and just 1 microsecond latency, the Sun Datacenter Switch 3456 is the most capable switch on the market. Together with the Sun Blade Modular System the Sun DS 3456 delivers an extremely scalable High Performance Computing environment.

    • 3456 ports based upon 5-stage Clos fabric
    • Custom double wide rack chassis
    • 24 horizontally installed line cards, each provides 144 DDR 4x ports
    • 18 fabric vertically installed line cards each with 8 module high performance fans
    • Passive orthogonal midplane provides direct connection between line cards and fabric cards
    • Integrated cable management designed to route a maximum of 1,152 cables to either floor or ceiling
