The Standby Wizard can actually detect if a tablespace (data file) or redo log specification has changed and will perform intelligently an incremental rebuild of your standby database, making only the minimal changes necessary. The Standby Wizard will also detect database changes that are not logged (no logging) and will perform an incrimental rebuild on only those data files that need repair. This not only saves human resource hours - but it will save you disk and CPU usage in the maintainence of your standby database configuration. If disaster ever hits, the Standby Wizard can be activated along with your standby database without the need for an Oracle DBA to issue SQL commands to start, mount, activate, and open your standby database.
