AppSense Performance Manager

AppSense is the leading developer of workload management technologies, bringing the resource control tools that Solaris administrators will be familiar with to the Microsoft Windows platform. AppSense products optimise application performance from datacentre to desktop, enabling enterprises to improve service availability and reduce operational costs through server consolidation.

AppSense Performance Manager allows for the consolidation of multiple SQL Server Instances onto the same server while ensuring the computing resources to each are distributed according to business policies. AppSense Performance Manager protects the performance of key SQL Server database instances from other processes that could monopolize system resources and affect quality of service. These other processes would typically include other SQL Server instances, management tools and agents. By dynamically managing the allocation of computing resource to each database instance and other processes, AppSense Performance Manager enables the partitioning of resources to reflect the business importance or associated service level agreements of each instance.
