Power Management Solutions

With Lantronix Power Management solutions, you gain independent control of device power, so you can reboot any individual device or group of devices simultaneously. You can even program devices to power up in sequence for unattended operation or to reduce in-rush current.

Securelinx SLP

SecureLinx SLP is a remote power management tool that combines intelligent power distribution, management and load-measurement for remote equipment and branch AC circuits into a practical, easy-to-use device.

With SLP, system administrators can securely control the power to every piece of equipment in the data center through a simple web interface from anywhere in the world. In the event of a server problem or non-responsive system, individual servers can be re-booted. This is also a benefit when server configuration changes require power cycling for the change to take effect.

In order to prevent overloads caused by sudden in-rush of current when equipment is powered-up, the SLP provides the ability to power-up devices in a pre-determined sequence causing a more steady power draw.

PCU8

The PCU8 remote power control unit allows independent control of power of up to eight devices via a single RS-232 serial port. Password protected access and a convenient menu system provide systems administrators with complete control of the connected devices. Reboot any individual device, a group of devices, or all connected devices simultaneously.

For local control, front panel mounted switches provide convenient access, and LED indicators provide status for each device. Where more than eight devices need to be controlled, additional PCU8 units can be cascaded to control up to 72 devices from a single serial port.

The unit can be programmed to power-up attached devices in a pre-determined sequence for unattended operation, or to reduce inrush current from the AC mains. The PCU8 uses zero-crossing solid-state relays for silent switching of attached devices. These relays shield attached equipment from harmful power transients. Power failure recovery ensures that no one has to be there to start up equipment if a power failure occurs.

When connected to a Secure console server, the PCU8 can be remotely controlled over a network or through a dial-up connection.
