The Oracle Database Appliance unifies software, servers, storage and networking in a single box with high availabilty. Every component within the box is supported by a single vendor, and offers the unique 'Pay as you Grow' software licensing service. This scales from 2-24 processor cores, without incurring the cost usually associated with hardware upgrades.
The Oracle Database Appliance is a 4U rack-mountable chassis. Within are 2 Oracle Linux Server Nodes, each with 2 6 Core Intel Xeon X5675 processors, and 96 GB of Memory. The two server nodes are connected via an internal redundant gigabit Ethernet (GbE) interconnect for cluster communication. The appliance contains 12 TB of storage that is triple mirrored. This gives 4 TB of resilient database storage. The appliance is designed with mission critical requirements in mind, with hot-swappable components.
Ease of Deployment, Management and Support.
To help customers easily deploy and manage their databases, the Oracle Database Appliance features Appliance Manager Software for one-button automation to provision, patch and diagnose database servers. The appliance manager feature greatly simplifies the deployment process, freeing your DBA resources.

The Database Appliance offers the unique Pay as You Grow software licensing model. This enables you to quickly scale from 2 to 24 processor cores without any hardware upgrades. The Database appliance can be deployed with as little as 2 processor cores enabled.
