IBM System p5 505 Express

The p5-505 and p5-505Q Express entry servers provide exceptional value in a 1U (one EIA Unit) high-density system. They offer on demand computing without compromising availability, flexibility or security features – at a value price. With expansive growth potential, innovative virtualisation capabilities, extraordinary power and proven IBM technology, System p5 505 and 505Q Express servers are ready to help clients do more and spend less.

The performance, reliability and affordability features of the System p5 505 Express platform are designed with proven IBM technology to meet the needs of smaller and medium-sized clients for high-performance, easy-to-manage and very attractively priced systems. The p5-505 Express is a one- or two-core server with 1.9 or 2.1GHz POWER5+ processor cores. It can ideally function as a security server (e-mail, firewall, asset protection, identity security), for basic infrastructure applications such as Web serving, simple database serving, file/print serving and for HPC clustering.
