IBMEnd of lifeIBM BladeCenter CP20The IBM CP20 Workstation Connection Device, placed on or near the user’s desk, connects to the HC10 workstation blade via Ethernet and provides ports for monitors, keyboard, mouse and other peripherals (keyboard, mouse, monitor and line cord sold separately). It has no high-level operating system, disks or persistent storage. About the size of a book, the CP20 is virtually silent with no moving parts and consumes only 25 watts (nominal) of power. All of these features help contribute to a cooler, quieter, less cluttered workspace. The CP20 provides these connections:
Graphics and USB data, compressed and encrypted to help provide security, are transferred between the HC10 and CP20 via a standard Ethernet network. IBM recommends use of a corporate intranet rather than public WAN for performance reasons. The CP20 and BladeCenter HC10 provide a SOAP interface for use by management software. Third-party software can provide a connection management feature using this interface, and IBM anticipates providing a connection management solution in the future. Product features
